hip to be square

I want to be Ai Takahashi when I grow up.

I think I'd be willing to go all Anna Nicole Smith for this guy. I'll have to research whether he's single. Or maybe he and his wife will be willing to adopt me! One can dream.

I worked and met a really awesome young adult reader today. We sat and talked about books we liked for a good half hour while her mom shopped. She's read Twilight and didn't particularly like them for the exact same reasons that I don't. Just a really cool kid. She left the store with four books and promised to come back and talk with me about them. That's why I love my job.

Today was awesome because I now own my car. I made my last payment today after being stuck with it for the past three years. It's going to be so weird not having to allow for $250 to be taken out of my account on the 14th of every month. Except that I've decided that I'm going to start paying for my own insurance now. But at least the check will be written to my parents and they aren't going to fine me if I can't come up with it right away. The bank clerk even did a little jig on my behalf when I payed it. And then gave me a dum-dum sucker.

*Edit* Today is even more awesome because at 10:00 at night I decided to move around my books and ended up clearing an entire bookshelf to begin getting my stacks of books up off the floor. Nearly every book has a little home now! Yay! It also let me see books I haven't seen since I bought them on my last day at Borders during this huge dollar clearance sale. Who knew I had Angela's Ashes and Eats Shoots and Leaves? Because I sure didn't.

  1. Aww, I wanna read Eats Shoots and Leaves! But not Angela's Ashes.

And holy crap, Ai is frickin' adorable. I approve of you being her so I can hang out with you and pinch your cheeks. We need to stage a Morning Musume photobook photoshoot with umbrellas and traffic cones!
